Lead Behind the Scenes. Make a Grand Impact. Where Hospitality Meets Leadership: Arizona Grand Resort & SpaVaried Shifts AM and PM
Lead The Engine Behind Exceptional Hospitality
At Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, every unforgettable banquet, elegant celebration, and high-energy convention begins behind the scenes. This is an opportunity to lead the stewarding operation that keeps one of Phoenix’s most distinctive resort destinations polished, prepared, and performing at its best.
Set against the dramatic desert beauty of South Mountain Preserve, Arizona Grand blends four-diamond service with the energy of a premier meetings and events destination. You’ll lead a hardworking team at the center of the culinary action—creating a clean, organized, safe, and seamless environment for colleagues and guests alike.
What You’ll Lead
- Direct daily stewarding operations across kitchens, food preparation areas, banquet spaces, and event support functions.
- Lead, coach, schedule, and evaluate dishwashers and banquet stewards, building a reliable, accountable, service-minded team.
- Partner closely with the Assistant Stewarding Manager, Banquet Chef, and culinary leadership to anticipate the needs of conventions, catering functions, and daily resort operations.
- Coordinate work assignments, breaks, deliveries, dish-out line setup, and event-related food transport with precision and urgency.
- Ensure food, equipment, linens, supplies, and cleaning products are stored, handled, and delivered safely and efficiently.
- Maintain immaculate ballroom kitchen and back-of-house areas in accordance with resort standards and local health code requirements.
- Champion compliance with health, fire, sanitation, and safety regulations, including the correct use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Inspect completed stewarding assignments and ensure every set, station, and support area is ready for service.
- Safeguard department inventory and equipment through thoughtful controls, proper handling, maintenance, and accurate organization.
- Operate company vehicles, including flatbed trucks, to deliver food and supplies to banquet areas as needed.
- Support additional operational priorities as assigned by the Executive Banquet Chef.
What Makes You Exceptional
You are equal parts operational strategist and hands-on leader. You understand that a pristine kitchen, a well-timed delivery, and a prepared team are not minor details—they are the foundation of extraordinary guest experiences.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hot- and cold-food preparation experience required.
- Mechanical and kitchen-equipment repair experience required.
- At least two years of stewardship supervisory experience required.
- Current Arizona Food Service Worker Card required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
- Comfort working in varying kitchen temperatures and a fast-paced banquet environment.
- Ability to stand, reach, bend, stoop, and lift regularly throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, or push materials and equipment—including loads up to 200 pounds with carts or appropriate equipment.
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment operation, maintenance, sanitation practices, and chemical safety.
- Basic math skills for requisitions, measurements, inventory, and chemical usage.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English with team members and leadership.
Bring Your Standards To The Desert
Phoenix is a city defined by ambition, sunshine, and a spirit of reinvention. At Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, you’ll bring that same energy to a role where operational excellence is visible in every sparkling dish, every flawlessly prepared ballroom, and every successful event.
We’re looking for a leader with sound judgment, a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and a professional presence that reflects the elevated standards of a premier resort. If you take pride in making complex operations feel effortless, this is where your leadership can make a lasting impact.
