Resort House Attendant Wanted: Maintain Cleanliness and Elevate Guest Experience in a Fun Team Environment - Apply Now!
Summary of Position:
The House Attendant is responsible for assuring the cleanliness of guest walkways, foyers, stairwells, housekeeping closets and public vending areas as well as assisting Room Attendants to maintain the Resort standards of quality and cleanliness.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform, radio/earpiece and company-issued pin
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other associates
- Empty Room Attendant carts of soiled linen and trash
- Vacuum, sweep and/or mop walkways, stairwells, vending areas and breezeways
- Assure housekeeping closets, storage, and linen rooms are organized and left in impeccable order for the following shift
- Receive linen supplies from laundry and stock linen closets on guest floors in a neat and organized manner
- Assure all dirty dishes are removed from the housekeeping closets daily and brought to be washed in stewarding
- Ensure all soiled laundry is brought to housekeeping at the end of the day for outside service to pick up
- Dust and polish lighting and room numbers by guest room doors
- Clean windows on hallway doors
- Spot clean hallways as needed
- Help the Room Attendants with heavy lifting and special cleaning projects as requested or directed
- Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisor
- Always respond in a friendly, service-oriented manner to guests and other colleagues
- Assist Room Attendants with removal of trash and linen from guest rooms as requested or directed
- Respond to guest questions; provide guest assistance, directions and information as requested
- Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to the MOD and/or Security
- Handles any tasks assigned by the supervisors as requested
- Regular and consistent attendance is required
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, Director of Housekeeping, Director of Rooms or General Manager
- Provide instruction and/or guidance for guests and associates to safely exit in fire or other emergency situations
Personal Characteristics:
- Behaves ethically and honestly.
- Communicates effectively: Speaks and listens and engages in a clear, thorough, and timely manner, effectively reading and writing, using the English language
- Education: N/A
Experience: Previous janitorial experience preferred.
Certificates or Licenses: N/A
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend the English language sufficiently enough to understand and communicate information for reasons such as safety and security, product safety labels and emergency instructions.
- Knowledge of stain removal, chemical cleaning agents and operation of different types of equipment.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods of time. Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor or Department Head(s).
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to memorize, behave, perform and adhere to The Scott Resort & Spa’s Workplace Culture, Policies, Procedures and Department Standards. Exhibits an appearance appropriate for a four-diamond resort (Specific grooming standards are available for review).
