In this impactful role, as an executive committee member, you will lead the financial operation of The Scott Resort & Spa, partner with our in-house associates and leaders, and collaborate with our corporate finance and company leaders for Marc & Rose Hospitality. Amazing opportunity!
Monday through Friday 8am-5pm; Flexible for additional hours as required for an exempt position

Summary of Position:

The Director of Finance oversees and manages the financial and accounting functions of the resort and its associated hotel properties. This role safeguards company assets, ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform System of Accounts, and ensures the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. The Director provides financial analysis to support profit-maximization goals, manages cash flow reporting, and leads the training, supervision, and performance management of the Finance team. In addition, this position partners with property leadership and the corporate office to ensure accurate, timely reporting and operational support.

Essential Functions:

  • Financial Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement property-wide financial strategies that align with brand standards, guest expectations, and ownership priorities; identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare and manage budgets, forecast revenues, and monitor expenses to ensure financial goals are achieved.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee accurate accounting, prepare and analyze financial statements, manage the month-end close process, and provide timely reporting to property leadership, corporate office, and ownership in compliance with GAAP, the Uniform System of Accounts, and company policies.
  • Operations Oversight: Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income audit functions; ensure accurate profit and loss reporting; oversee and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow, including weekly reporting to Corporate
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain strong internal controls; ensure compliance with contracts, SOPs, corporate policies, licensing requirements, and governmental regulations; escalate irregularities to the Corporate Director of Finance.
  • Departmental Collaboration: Partner with the General Manager and with department heads to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and foster cross-functional accountability for results.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate the Finance team; promote a collaborative culture; support career development and ensure high standards of performance.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, consistent communication with owners, management, and corporate leadership to support strategic objectives.
  • Culture Alignment: Demonstrate and uphold Marc & Rose’s HEARTfelt culture, vision, values, and standards of conduct.
  • Other Duties: Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Corporate Director of Finance and General Manager.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Experience: Must have 5-10 years’ experience in hospitality accounting, preferably at Director level.

Certificates or Licenses:  None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Technical expertise in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Proficiency with computer systems; experience with Opera PMS, Toast POS and Sage Intaact preferred.
  • Knowledge of business law, taxation, Department of Labor regulations, insurance, and employee benefits.
  • Proven ability to attract, retain, and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and accomplish tasks effectively.

Working Conditions:

This is an on-site, in-office position located at the resort.

Actual hours may vary depending upon business needs, but will generally be Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

Consistent attendance is a critical requirement.
