Summary of Position:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet property standards of cleanliness and presentation, supporting and coaching housekeeping associates, and providing warm, welcoming, genuine, efficient, resourceful, and HEARTfelt care to our guests and associates.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and support housekeeping staff to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and brand standards
  • Conduct daily room inspections and ensure quality assurance procedures are followed
  • Assign daily boards, projects, and special cleaning tasks to team members
  • Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and guest service expectations
  • Coach and mentor team members to support performance, productivity, and professional growth
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering housekeeping supplies, linens, and amenities
  • Coordinate with Front Desk and Maintenance departments regarding room status, guest requests, and maintenance issues
  • Utilize email communication, Opera PMS, and HotSOS to manage room status updates, guest requests, work orders, and departmental communication
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and hotel policies and procedures
  • Assist with attendance tracking and performance management
  • Respond to guest concerns and service recovery issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Support laundry operations and ensure proper handling of linens and hotel property
  • Maintain organization of housekeeping storage areas and carts
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects, inspections, and preparation for VIP arrivals or special events
  • Promote teamwork, productivity, and a positive work environment within the department
  • Ensure staff follows proper chemical handling and OSHA guidelines
  • Step in to clean rooms or public areas as needed to support operational demands

Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent preferred

Certificates or Licenses: N/A

Experience: A minimum of six months to 1 year in a housekeeping supervisor position preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with other associates as well as guests.

Ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and basic guest requests.

Personal Characteristics:

•         Behaves ethically and honestly

•         Communicates effectively: Speaks and listens and engages in a clear, thorough, and timely manner, effectively reading and writing, using the English language (preferred)

•         Professional Appearance: Exhibits an appearance appropriate for a four-diamond resort (Specific grooming standards are available for review)
